Alternative Drinks That Could Match The Greatness Of Soda Pop

Soda has a special place in my heart, and it always has ever since I was a little kid. Maybe it’s the sound it makes when I open a can or perhaps it is just the sweet and bubbly taste, but it is one of my favorite things to drink.

Sadly, the older I get, the more I know that I really should not be drinking that much soda, but since I like it so much, actually facing the fact that I have to cut down is something that I try to avoid whenever possible.

A lot of people, when they get my age, start to drink diet soda. For me, the taste is nasty and I can’t imagine putting anything that unhealthy into my system. Sure, soda has a lot of sugar in it, but that is more natural than some of the chemicals found in diet.

Another alternative to both regular and diet soda is seltzer water. It has the same fizz and coolness when it goes down my throat, but it doesn’t taste good, and I miss the sugar and other flavors that it doesn’t have.

So, since I’ve pretty much eliminated regular, diet and seltzer from my list of things that I should put in my body, that leaves me with few options. But, as luck would have it, I have found the perfect solution: Carbonated fruit drinks.

Izze and Fizzy Lizzy’s are two of my favorite brands of carbonate fruit drinks. I know there are more brands out there, but, in my opinion these two are the best tasting and offer a wide range of flavors to choose from.

Since they don’t add sugar or strange chemicals to provide flavor and sweetness, these products are surprisingly tasty and feel like drinking real soda. They are loaded with fruit juice along with some seltzer.

You can find these carbonated fruit drinks at your local grocery store, in addition a host of other locations as well. These make a great alternative to drinking regular or diet soda whenever you get thirsty.

Is Diet Soda A Better Option?

The United States addiction to soda is alarming. Did you know that Americans are estimated to consume more than 13.5 billion gallons of soda annually? This statistic becomes more alarming considering that there are approximately nine teaspoons of sugar in every 12-ounce can of soda. Therefore, in order to cut calories, many individuals have decided to switch to diet soda. Caffeine can be the cause of addiction to the substance along with chronic anxiety, insomnia and fatigue. These symptoms can make it harder for you to get motivated to work out or stick to your diet.

Diet soda is not the only choice if you are looking to head away from regular soda. Natural juices, teas and especially water are great at helping facilitate a healthy lifestyle. Tea is great for those who wish to wean themselves off of caffeine because it delivers a small amount but not nearly as much as diet sodas. Try other healthier habits as well. Those trying to decide between coffee and soda don’t really have much of a decision on their hands.
