Enjoying The Halal Restaurant Hop By Not Missing Halal Cakes

The Islamic faith regards the body as a sacred temple, therefore, Islam believers do not take in food and substances which they consider can hurt their bodies. These foods are called haram or unlawful. Examples of haram foods are pork, blood, meat from a dead animal, meat from an animal who was slaughtered rather viciously, and all kinds of food where the name of Allah was not observed during the preparation and before partaking in. Alcohol is also a rigorously forbidden substance. Outside these food items, Islam believers consume the halal foods, or those which are permitted.

Trying to find halal foods is not as difficult as before. Many halal eating places are registered to serve halal foods. Not only does this mean that they do not have pork and other haram foods on the dish, but that the manner the dish was prepared kept strictly halal food preparation and cooking methods from butchering the animal to obtaining the meat to cooking it. In the kitchen, utensils utilised for cooking haram foods are not used for the halal foods. And when the dish is helped, not a single haram component can be seen on it.

People usually think that halal foods are just particular to main courses, but there are also halal cakes. These cakes have no alcohol content, because alcohol is a forbidden substance. Many bakers use a hint of alcohol to give the cake a terrific flavour. Usually the alcohol functions as an emulsifier. In fact, there are rhum cakes, obviously with rhum, cakes made with brandy, food for the gods, dark chocolate cakes that are sometimes mingled with red wine to hold that distinct feel, aroma, and taste of decadence.

So do Islam followers go minus loving a good dessert? Decidedly not. To substitute the alcohol, bakers of halal cakes use apple juice and alcohol-free vanilla extract. Also, bakers usually require solid fats to make the cake, and these solid fats are usually pork fat-based. To remove this haram ingredient, halal cakes have fruit-based solid fats instead. What a dependable substitute that does not sacrifice the flavour at all.

Shortenings may also be based on haram ingredients, and so to substitute these, there are better and healthier alternatives like apple sauce, pureed prunes, and apple butter. Particularly rich for pies.

Enjoy dining at your favourite Halal Restaurant offering a fine selection of Halal Cakes.

Twenty-First Century Catering And Consumer Services

The way modern dining services are organized has been already in practice ever since the ancient times. Ancient people did everything to formalize dining practices so they could serve not only as a way of sustaining the physical body but also as an effective means for expressing traditions and beliefs.

As a result, ancient practices in food services revolved around the concepts of religion, well being and social reasons. These practices had greatly influenced how foods were served, what kinds of cuisines to include in the menu, and how foods should be prepared.

Such practices are still so evident these days. Some though have evolved thus leading to notable modifications in the culinary landscape. One of the changes in this industry is the customers’ need for healthier food servings.

Before this was not an issue, particularly those dining practices that were bound by religion. However, societies nowadays have been plagued by diseases such as obesity, heart attack and diabetes that the need for healthier food meals is very important.

Food services, including catering businesses – irrespective of the type of cuisine they are specializing – thus have become more concerned on where they get the food they serve and how foods are grown, raised or caught. They also focus on how to produce a variety of menus in which the right amount of carbohydrate, protein, and fat is being cautiously applied.

Singaporean catering services that specialize in Aussie cuisines thus can effectively render this requirement by making use of organic or, if not, fresh and locally nurtured meats, vegetables and fruits. Effective chefs can prepare the iconic Aussie cuisines even without importing ingredients from Australia.

Hygiene and sanitation, excellent customer service and food pricing are also significant to the present-day culinary landscape. Food services that are mindful of these requirements can draw more customers and eventually gain their trust.

Unlike during ancient days, contemporary catering services benefit from scientific knowledge. Today’s catering businesses thus no longer have to deal with the customers’ demands on a trial and error basis. All it takes is to acquire the right knowledge and the right management approach in order for the food service industry to help promote healthier diets.

The essential things you should know about catering and food delivery businesses.

Many Styles Of Barbeque In Korean Restaurant

There are many styles of Korean barbeques that we can try in a Korean restaurant. Galbi is the most popular among them.

Galbi, or kalbi, generally refers to a variety of “gui”, or grilled dishes, in Korean food that is cooked with marinated meat in soy sauce. In the Korean vocabulary, galbi literally means “rib” and can often show uncooked ribs. In addition, the dish’s full name is galbi gui, although “gui” (grilling) is commonly omitted to refer to it.

We could make gui with beef (usually short ribs), pork, and chicken. Galbi is generally served in restaurants and the meat is cooked right at customers’ tables on grills set in the tables (cooked usually by the customers themselves).

They are usually served alongside lettuce and a spicy dipping sauce called ssamjang. A spoonful of rice, a piece of galbi, and a dollop of ssamjang wrapped up in lettuce is a divine mouthful of some of the best flavors in Korean cooking. Galbi is popular as both Korean picnic food and restaurant food.

Recipe Ingredients – 16 ribs – 1 cup soy sauce – cup sugar – cup water – 1 Asian pear, chopped (or Korean pear) – 1 onion, sliced – 2 tbsp minced garlic – 4 tbsp sesame oil – 1 tbsp ground pepper – 1 tbsp juice of ginger

Cooking Directions 1. Wash the meat. Rarely but sometimes you can find tiny bone scraps stick to the meat. Soak in water for 1 hour, drain. 2. In a food processor, add chopped onion and pear, pure finely. Pour out to a large bowl, add remaining ingredients and stir. 3. Marinate beef for 8-10 hours or overnight for most delicious taste. They cook fairly quickly, 2-3 minutes on one side. 4. Traditionally, it is grilled with a wood charcoal but certainly you can grill on a gas stove or outdoor grill.

How To Make Tteoguk

Tteokguk is a traditional Korean food to eat on New Year’s Day. It is believed that people have to eat Tteokguk because it is predicted to give the luck for the forthcoming year and for him or her to supposedly gain an extra year of life. Eating one bowl of Tteokguk in the morning of New Year’s Day means that you become one year older. The first day of the New Year is the new start for all formation. People start eating Tteokguk cooked from white rice cake (Tteok) to stress the day’s pure and solemn nature. Why is rice cake round? Some people say it was shaped after coins to bring people prosperity and some people say it means the sun. According to a 19th century handbook on traditions, the history of eating rice cake soup dates back to the late 18th century.

It is ery important to make a good broth for this dish to be tasty. Beef brisket is boiled for several hours and the stock is strained to clarify the broth. Long rice cake sticks are thin-sliced diagonally and boiled in the clear beef broth. The rice cake slices should be cooked until they’re very tender. Make sure you put the egg to room temperature before you beat it and add it to the broth. An egg that just came out of the refrigerator will make the broth murky instead of smooth and thin ribbons.

It is very simple to make Tteokguk nowadays because most of the Korean grocery stores sell rice cake pieces.

This is how to cook Tteokguk:

INGREDIENTS (Serves 4)

5 cups BEEF BROTH.

1 lb/455 g sliced “GARAETTEOK” (rice cake), soaked in water for 2 hours

1 EGG, beaten

2 sheets of “GIIM” (seaweed), toasted slightly

SOY SAUCE to adjust seasoning

2 SCALLIONS, cut diagonally

BLACK PEPPER

1. Prepare the beef broth early on. Prepare GARAETTEOK (rice cake) slices and remove the egg from the refrigerator and leave it alone in room temperature.

2. Bring the broth to a boil, then add the rice cake slices. Let it cook until it becomes tender. In the meantime, lightly toast the seaweed on a toaster. Cut the seaweed into 4 pieces with scissors and then into strips. Set it aside. Adjust the soup seasoning with soy sauce and add the scallion.

3. Swirl the soup with chopsticks while putting in the beaten egg as a stream. Separate the soup into individual bowls and top them with crumbled seaweed.

All kinds of Tteokguk have been enjoyed in the northern part and southern part of Korea, which are different in climate and types of farming. In the north, the farming of rice is rare; people added Mandu (Korean style Dumpling) to Tteokguk and enjoyed Tteokmanduguk.

Tteokguk is served in many Korean restaurants all year around. Many people order tteokguk in Korean restaurants.

What You Should Know About Your Cutting Board

The hygiene of a cutting board should be a concern to all of us. If it is not cleaned thoroughly after each use the germs and bacteria collect on it to be transmitted to the food the next time you use it. If you are purchasing a new one or cleaning the one that you already have then there are things to consider.

The boards come in a variety of materials so you need a variety of different scouring methods. You can find glass, plastic, acrylic, and different kinds of wood. All of them have to be cleaned properly to avoid illness. Using a different cutting boards for different uses helps to avoid this problem of cross contamination.

It is thought that meat should never be cut on a board. Meat has the highest incidence of tainting your board. Even though you wash it extremely well there is still a chance that there will remain some trace of blood or the raw juice of meat. This can potentially be dangerous. Cut the meat elsewhere and then do not use this surface for anything else unless you use a dishwasher to wash it.

You will be surprised that some of the best cleaning products are things you have in your home. For example if you want to give an extra cleaning to a plastic or wooden board then mix baking soda, salt, and some water and then scrub the board. Afterwards rinse with hot water.

We all have hydrogen peroxide in the house and to clean put some on your board for around ten minutes and then rinse off. Then take distilled vinegar and repeat the process. Another cleaner that will help is bleach. Bleach has so many uses but in this case mix water with it. Use it on a wooden board but do not soak the board. Use a paper towel that is damp and just wipe off before you leave it to dry. Another amazing product used full strength is vinegar. It is a very effective disinfectant.

Occasionally you will find an unpleasant aroma that you would like to remove. Spread sea salt and rub the board with a cut lemon. There are two benefits to using these; there is no longer any smell and those horrible stains are gone.

Essential oils are being used for many reasons these days and they are also great to clean your board. Use lavender essential oil mixed with water and place in a spray bottle. Mix the ingredients well by shaking. Then all you have to do is spray and you do not even have to rinse this off.

And the old stand by water and some soap. When you use a brush with hot water and soap you are able to clean out areas that are hard to clean. As you can see there are choices you can make in order to keep your family healthy. You can do some of these every time you use your board or just occasionally for a more in depth cleaning. These cleaning methods will keep the board clean, odorless, and fresh.

These items are easily replaced. They are not a fixture in your kitchen so when you see that your knives have made grooves then toss them out. Buy new ones on a regular basis.

Peter Calderon has written best cutting boards reviews in his blog. Besides reviewing the popular John Boos cutting board that is a favorite among many professional chefs, he also recommended other cutting boards made of composite, bamboo, and plastic.
